Clueless Is Getting a Reboot

A new “Clueless” TV series is now officially in the works, and has landed at Peacock for development. The original “Clueless” movie was released by Paramount, which decided to take the rights to the new show to the marketplace instead of developing it in-house.

Amy Heckerling, who directed the 1995 movie, is back to serve as executive producer. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are writing the script alongside Jordan Weiss. Alicia Silverstone is returning to the series as Cher Horowitz, and is also serving as executive producer for the show. There is no word yet on whether other actors from the original film will be back, but many have gone on to great fame, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the series try to lure them back.

There is no word yet on when the new “Clueless” show will come out. Since the series is still in the initial development phase, it will almost certainly not be released before 2026, at the earliest.
